Can you claim self defense if your being charge with inappropriately touching a child?

I was hanging out at a park and some 8 year old boy out of nowhere started attacking me and I had to wrestle/grope him down. Now they are trying to say I tried to molest the boy which is untrue. Will a self defense hold in court?
