Is it a rumor or is it true? ......Need help from anybody who did premarital counseling?

Me and my fiance is in premarital counseling and every time we leave it feel like we may not be making the right decision. All the counselor done was concentrate on all our bad characteristics and we have not yet discuss the good things. He also notice red flags that we found minor in our relationship (like having a separate bank account) However, i have heard that its his job to make us feel this way and see if we going to stick it through. Is it true or should we reconsider marriage and take his advice. We are not only in love but we make a great team, we are best friends, we compliment each other well and i feel we are very compatible. P.s. I also heard that we need to remember this phrase and never forget it " put god first, each other second and the rest will fall in place" the counselor never mention where we stand with god.
