if used properly and under a doctor's care, there is little to worry about with antidepressants. yes, some people have bad side effects from them. yes, teh incidence of thinking about and/or attempting suicide in adolescents is something to keep an eye on. for the majority of poeple, there are no major problems with antidepressants. consider the sources of your information. ask your primary care physycian. ask a psychiatrist or nurse practitioner (can prescribe medication). but get the facts straight before you completely dismiss the use of this tool.
