Computer Science...same as Videogame Programming?

So, I've always wanted to go into Video Game Programming and I'm currently pursuing my Computer Science degree (2nd year). I was told that you needed to go into some specialty schools to program video games. After looking around a bit, I can't find all that much on the requirements, or basic degrees needed to be a game programmer. Am I pursuing the right degree for this?
